Second Graders Amaze with Architecture
Second graders have been studying and interpreting the concept of community in their classroom. Through the guidance of Gretchen Junker and her collection of Legos, the class worked in groups to make these scale models of buildings within Oak Park. The attention to detail is outstanding and resulted from the high level of engagement each student exhibited during this lesson.
Kindergarten Fall Trees
These colorful trees were created by using chalk, glue, and lentils for leaves. After reviewing horizon line and learning about the parts of a tree, kindergarten collaged these playful pieces.
Update on Second Grade
Upon returning this week to work with Ms. Holt's second graders I saw that this beautiful display had been created of their artwork. To top it off, each child wrote a story or poem about fall to be shown with their artwork. Bravo 2nd grade!
