Second Grade Seascapes
Winslow Homer painted the sea to represent the struggle of man against nature. He used expressive colors and a sense of movement in his artwork to evoke a strong response from his audiences. Second graders worked with the idea of creating a “mood” as they painted their own seascapes with watercolor. Each student drew their ship using shapes and hand-measurements to get an accurate depiction. After establishing a horizon line and mixing their colors the students overlapped their ships on their papers.
Rainbow Fish
Kindergarten discussed the importance of family and friends over material objects. Here they created their own Rainbow Fish using Foil, each is special in its imperfections.
