Inspired by the amazing work Rebecca Kuntz (daughter of Lincoln teacher Matt Kuntz) is doing to help build an educational center in Ghana, third graders learned about students in Ghana just like them who love to learn and play. Glazed alphabet tiles made by staff and students were sent to decorate the walls of the learning center, while others were sold at the annual carnival to benefit the cause. To connect the experience of the third graders to those of the children in Ghana, students learned how to weave based on Kente cloth and designed their own symbol based on on Adinkra cloth.
